Downtown Happenings
Spring is nearing (despite the seemingly unending snowfall), the robins are returning, and all around things are starting to change. The same is true in downtown Tilton.
Join us in welcoming a new owner to the Tilton Coffee and Tea House. Steven Couture has taken over the coffee shop and has expanded into Generation Mortgage next door with a quilting supply shop called The Short Arm Café. He’s selling fabric by the yard, devices, notions, and quilting finishing services. Steven plans to be open until 8 pm every day but Sunday. Stop in and say hello, and try some of the yummy treats he’s offering. More info can be found at www.shortarmcafe.com.
TPN (The Process Nucleus) has moved across the street. Formerly located next to the Victorian Washboard Laundromat, TPN has a newly built out space at 271 Main (next to the Tilton Artisans Gallery).
And we say a sad good bye and thank you to Widdershins for their constant support of the Main Street programs and efforts.
Other new shops that have opened in recent months include:
Paris Nails at 300 Main, 286-4999
Tilton Plumbing and Heating at 300 Main, 286-7003
Tilton's Outdoor Market
We're planning now for Tilton's Outdoor Market and we're looking for additional vendors. The opening day of this ever-growing weekly event will be June 20th, and the hours and day will remain the same: 9 am to 12 pm on Saturdays. We are very excited about this season's potential and already have vendors committed! Download a brochure and application to register now.
What is the Tilton Main Street Organization?
Tilton Main Street Program is a non-profit organization made up of volunteers, merchants, and citizens who believe that the ecomonic vitality of the downtown is vital to the overall health of the Town of Tilton. TMSP works to raise funds for downtown improvements, organizes events, and works with merchants to build their customer base, all with the goal of reinvigorating the downtown.
Please Support Main Street
Although the Tilton Main Street program receives funding from a variety of sources, it is forever shrinking in these tight economic times. It is a challenge to maintain the funding necessary to meet our goals. Please consider making a donation to support the community programs and the events, like Summerfair, Holiday Traditions, or Downtown Historic Preservation efforts.
Thank you for you support.
